Plastic Surgery Singapore Price - How much plastic surgery actually costs in Singapore? (2020)

Ever wondered how much cosmetic surgery actually costs in Singapore?

plastic surgery singapore price

We do understand that price is an important consideration for plastic surgery. However,
plastic surgery is not without risks. It's advisable that you just don't look for the cheapest deal as there are aesthetic guidelines in Singapore that define who, what and where plastic surgery procedures can be and cannot be done in Singapore.
Plastic Surgery Singapore Guidelines

If you visit the sites of most cosmetic surgery clinics anywhere in the world, the detailed price list will not be published. The most likely reason is that cosmetic surgery is a personalised procedure and differs from one person to another. However, some clinics and customers do share the information on the internet. Although the numbers are everywhere on the internet, we have compiled and organised the information accordingly (by procedure) in one place.

Here is a quick guide on their average prices:
  • Liposuction: $2,500 - $3,500 per area
  • Breast Augmentation: $12,000 - $15,000
  • Eye Bag Removal Surgery: $2,500 - $5,000
  • Double Eyelid Surgery: $3,000 - $4,500
  • Rhinoplasty (Nose Job): $4,000
  • Facelift: $9,000 - $13,000
  • Tummy Tuck: $16,000 - $20,000

Because liposuction is tailored to meet each person's individual needs, the exact cost of liposuction can vary significantly. Liposuction generally costs between $2,500 and $3,500 per treatment area, not including hospital or ambulatory surgical center fees, anesthesia, and other expenses. A bigger area like the tummy will cost more than the arms.

For example, the cost of liposuction to the lower abdomen costs around $2,000. On the other hand, liposuction of the upper abdomen may cost up to $3,500.

You will need 1 to 2 weeks for the bruising to heal and anywhere between 2 days and 2 weeks to get back to normal routine.

VASERLipo for Double Chin and Back Fat - Singapore, SG
It was hard to fix a hereditary double chin with non-invasive treatments so when I opted for VASERlipo, a minimally-invasive treatment, it was even harder to find a doctor that I could trust.
Dr Ivan Puah from Amaris B. Clinic was not only a skilful and knowledgable doctor, but he is also very assuring. He also manages my expectations in a very honest manner, unlike many other doctors, which I utterly appreciate.
Cost: SGD 9,100

Breast Augmentation Singapore Price

There are 2 common ways to get your breast augmented: with breast implants or through fat transfer. If you go with breast implants, you have a choice of saline or silicone. Apparently, silicone feels more natural.

Fat transfer procedure is relatively more expensive because it’s 2 procedures in one. However, the effects are less long-lasting as fat cells can shrink.

Due to the various methods available i.e. breast augmentation with breast implant or fat transfer, breast augmentation with or without breast lift (mastopexy); be prepared to fork out anything from $12,000 and up to $16,000 or maybe more depending on the centre or plastic surgeon.

Facelift (Rhytidectomy) Singapore

Facelift surgery generally costs between $9,000 and $13,000 in Singapore.

There are 2 types of face lifts. The traditional face lift involves making an incision from your ear to hairline. The surgeon than pulls the skin taut before stitching the gap.

In recent years, women are trying out the less invasive Endoline Ribbon Lift, also known as non surgical face lift, where the surgeon makes a small cut in your hairline and inserts the Endoline Ribbon down to your jowls. This lifts your face but the effect is not permanent. The ribbon will melt in 1 to 2 years and the lifting effect can potentially last for 7 years.

Cosmetic surgery overseas: is it better or cheaper?

Post-operative care is just as important as the procedure. No surgery is completely free of complications. Although plastic surgery is a relatively low-risk procedure, one of the most-feared complications is post-surgical infection. This is a life threatening medical emergency and you will need to see your doctor ASAP.

If you have done your plastic surgery in another country e.g. Korea or Thailand, you will need to fly back to that country each time you wanted to see the plastic surgeon or to have something corrected. From a safety perspective, it's better to have your plastic surgery fix locally in Singapore.

Another drawback of going overseas is that the plastic surgeons and nurses may not speak English as well as you can. This may lead to miscommunication.

You’d also have to make arrangements for follow-up consultations after a few weeks or months. You can either stay there for a long period or make multiple trips, both of which will add to the total cost of your plastic surgery.

However, if you are seriously looking for cheaper options, you could consider Thailand, Malaysia and Taiwan. Prices in South Korea are comparable to Singapore’s, so there is no point going there for the sake of cost; as it would be higher if you add up the accommodation, travel and risk.

A famous Singaporean blogger had her rhinoplasty done in Thailand for just $170 (compared to the $3,000 to $4,000 on average that is being charged here). Breast augmentation in Taiwan is about $8,000 to $10,000, nearly half Singapore’s price. Breast augmentation in Malaysia is even cheaper.

Wrapping It Up

Note: All prices are not inclusive of hospital stay, medicine and general anaesthetic fees (unless stated otherwise).

The rates above are only a guideline and the actual costs may vary depending on where your procedure is done (hospitals may have additional charges).

While the most expensive surgeon is not necessarily "the best", there may be significant compelling reasons for a surgeon to charge the lowest fees in town. If "shopping" by phone for the "best deal" in plastic surgery, beware of the "loss leader strategy". Make sure you know what you are quoted; a surgeon’s fee vs. the total fee for the procedure. Do your research to make sure no hidden fees are involved.

Some surgeons may invoice you during the first consultation. So, please ask before booking the first appointment on whether the initial consultation fee is free or chargeable.

The total fee is normally higher since it would include the surgeon’s fee, the operating room cost, the anaesthesia fee and any special charges (such as implants or laser fees) and also the necessary follow up visit/s. Be aware that operations whose extent and duration is based on the size of the patient (such as liposuction) cannot realistically be quoted on the phone without an examination.

And one last precaution, no cosmetic surgery procedures in hotel rooms please. If anyone were to convince you otherwise, stay away from that person!

We would recommend cosmetic surgery procedures to be performed in a well established hospital with well equipped operation theater. If in doubt, do stay on the safe side.

Finally, the choice that remains is yours.
